Right Use of Power on Maui

The first Maui Right Use of Power training took place in Makawao November 15-16, 2008.  Participants found the experience most valuable.  Here are some of their comments: I had just read the book and so the class was very helpful in using the materials with a group and how the information came alive in the present experience. I really enjoyed and learned from everything we did. Trading roles in exercises brought out the power role differences and our own personal relationship to them. The information was very well organized and it is great to have the bookRight Use of Power as a back-up. Years of research and ethics committee experience were available and evidenced in Cedar's teaching. The experiential aspects took me deeper into my process. The experiential exercises about the Power Differentials, Power Styles, Resolving Conflict, New Story/Old Story,  and Asking for Feedback, were especially helpful. All was presented in a relaxed and spacious manner.  Pace was gentle and not too fast. As a teacher I felt the course was invaluable and offered up many new possibilities for handling situations with people. I loved the processes and the book to keep.
